Oranges

TAROCCO
Shape: big caliber, useful both for juices and fresh. It’s a high quality variety – on average about 180-150 grams of spheroidal shape, with top lobe more or less pronounced.
Skin: fine, medium thick or thin, yellow-orange colour and flushed more than half of the surface.
Flesh: orange with yellow stripes and reddish pigmentation of a certain intensity, clearly visible, completely seedless, juicy, with medium acidity and sugars.
Leaf: oval-elliptical with pointed apex.
Availability: maturation occurs in December – March.
Preservation: it’s important not to keep them for a long time, because the vitamin C will deteriorate quickly. Should not be kept in too hot and dry environments as it will dry out, losing its juice and soft pulp.

SANGUINELLO
Shape: smaller caliber and redder than other oranges, equally suitable for juices, with significant variations from spheroidal to ovoid, of medium size, with a weight around 150-200 grams.
Skin: compact, with shades of red.
Flesh: dark orange with numerous blood mottling, very juicy and almost absent seeds. Particularly rich in citric acid and with a modest amount of sugars.
Leaf: elliptical in shape.
Availability: maturation occurs in January – February.
Preservation: it’s important not to keep them for a long time, because the vitamin C will deteriorate quickly. Should not be kept in too hot and dry environments as it will dry out, losing its juice and soft pulp.

VALENCIA
Shape: blond orange spheroidal in shapeand medium / large caliber.
Skin: medium thick pale orange.
Flesh: orange-blond coloured is very juicy and seedless, rich in sugars and vitamin C.
Availability: April to May.
Preservation: it’s important not to keep them for a long time, because the vitamin C will deteriorate quickly. Should not be kept in too hot and dry environments as it will dry out, losing its juice and soft pulp.
